Windows 8 and 10 PCs have a Windows Apps store for downloading native apps.
Certain media services have native apps that you download on your Windows PC. These apps may have more features when viewing content on your PC over using the web browser. For example, viewing Netflix on Google Chrome with show content only up to 720p in resolution, whereas the Netflix Windows app can stream content in 1080p.
