This week the comedy world received the sad news that Garry Shandling has passed away.  Shandling was a comedy writer, stand-up comedian, television and film actor. Perhaps his most famous work was as a creator and the star of The Larry Sanders Show—a satirical look at the behind-the-scenes crises and characters involved with putting together a late-night talk show.  Airing for 6 seasons in the heart of the 90s on HBO, The Larry Sanders Show directly influenced other sitcom hits 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office and Arrested Development.
