Where can Canadians watch 'Star Trek: Discovery'

Star Trek: Discovery is the upcoming Star Trek TV series set to debut on September 24, 2017. It will be the first Star Trek TV series on the air since Enterprise ended in 2005.

The series stars Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead) as a rising Starfleet officer. Discovery takes place ten years before the adventures of James T. Kirk on the original Star Trek from 1966.

Where to watch

Americans can watch Star Trek: Discovery on the streaming service CBS All Access. Of course, this service is not available to Canadians.

Netflix has acquired the worldwide rights for Discovery, for every region except the U.S. and Canada.

Bell Media has acquired the rights to Discovery in Canada. The two-episode premiere will air on CTV on Sunday, September 24, 2017. After that, you will need the cable channel Space to watch Discovery live on Sunday nights.

However, there is some good news for those without cable. New episodes of Discovery will be available on CraveTV on the Monday following the Sunday premiere. If you can handle waiting an extra day, then this is a great option to watch the new Trek series. This means the two-episode premiere will be available on CraveTV on Monday, September 25th at 8 p.m. ET.

Also, the companion series Talking Trek will be available on CraveTV following each new episode of Discovery.
